Not In Vain

"Forasmuch as ye know that your labour is
not in vain in the Lord." I Cor. 15:58

Ye that labor for the Master,
Toiling on thro' sun and rain,
Be ye strong and of good courage
For ye labor "not in vain".

Through the fruitage of your labors,
Your own eyes may never see,
Yet the harvest will be gathered,
Here or in eternity.

Sow your seed beside all waters,
Heaven's blessing will attend,
"He whose word cannot be broken"
Will reward you at the end.

Some for sowing, some for reaping,
Unto each, his task assigned,
Some, the ripened grain to gather,
Some, the golden sheaves to bind.

You have only to be faithful,
You have only to be true,
God will recompense you richly.
He will keep His word with you.

Labor on with hope undaunted,
Sowing, oft, with tears and pain,
Keeping ever in remembrance
That you labor "not in vain".
